Enjoyed the ability to return to the bar and relax. The room was extensive with good facilities and the hotel was very relaxed and peaceful.
A bit dated. I have stayed here for the past 7 years and little has changed in this time.
Friendly and helpful staff
Room decor was old and tired. Appreciate it is an old building, but the carpets, curtains etc do not need to reflect this also!
Friendly staff. Helpful with storing our luggage. Good breakfast. Comfortable beds. A touch of country character to the buildings. An interesting bar.
Limited car parking. An evening event stretched the staff
Very Friendly staff, great breakfast, and lovely old buildings.bit pricey though.
Right in the centre of the small town so very convenient .
Very poor parking facilities
We like the friendliness and the comfort. The local amenities and the position of the hotel were most agreeable - we would definitely go back.
Close to everything we wanted to do
Staff not cope very well if all guests arrived at breakfast at once. Had no idea which order people came in so later ones being served first and after a substantial wait had to complain. Mentioned when checked out, very appolagetic and discounted the bill.
Friendly staff in a hotel with lots of character.Only draw back is very narrow entrance into car park. Unfortunately their e mail advising me to use the back entrance wasn't received until after I'd left home (a late booking), and I damaged my car entering the car park!
Historic coaching inn, plenty of atmosphere
Window in bathroom had plain glass and was easily seen through by other hotel users. Frosted or opaque glass would have been better. Toilet seat would not stay up. These are both niggles rather than annoyances.
The staff are wonderful. Extemely helpful, polite, friendly and efficient. The breakfast was excellent and the bar had great beers and a wonderful atmosphere. I have stayed there a few times before and to be honest I won't bother to look to stay anywhere else whenever I have o visit Exeter. All in all, I find it hard to believe you will find a better hotel in the area at the price.
If anything, the room was directly above the bar, and as such was a bit nosier than I would have liked, but this wasn't a major problem and wouldn't stop me from staying at the Globe again.
The breakfast is fantastic! A choice of full English, continental, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon or smoked haddock with poached egg. All served with proper coffee, fresh juice. The staff are friendly and helpful and the pub/hotel has bags of character.
Good room that was value for money in the heart of Topsham. Great real ales too.
The entrance to the car park is very narrow and you have to be more careful than I was.
Nice interior design in the bedrooms. Great location. Nice old, lively, friendly English pub.
nice loction if you like old hotels / pubs this is great good selection of real bears
the food was not up to much for the price can do better my self
A friendlybar, good food in the restaurant, cheerful and efficient service, a nice old interesting building.
